“Si • San • Thai: COLORS OF THAI THAI” Opens in Grand Style! Ministry of Culture Invites Everyone to Experience the Vibrant Colors of Thai Culture

Experience “COLORS OF THAI THAI” through five creative zones and embark on a journey through the Thai way of life. Come “Taste, Explore, Enjoy, Experience, and Discover” through a wide range of complimentary activities and workshops from September 2–6, 2026, at IMPACT Exhibition Halls 7–8, Muang Thong Thani. The event also honors the 10 Best Model Cultural Communities under the “Community Tourism – Experiencing Local Ways of Life” initiative.

On September 2, 2026, at 3.00 p.m., H.E. Ms. Sabeeda Thaised, Minister of Culture, presided over the opening ceremony of the National Culture Fair “Si • San • Thai: COLORS OF THAI THAI.” Joining the ceremony were Mr. Prasop Riangngoen, Permanent Secretary for Culture, senior executives of the Ministry of Culture, members of the diplomatic corps, National Artists, folk and renowned artists, cultural networks, representatives of Provincial Cultural Offices, distinguished guests, tourists, and members of the media at IMPACT Exhibition Halls 7–8, Muang Thong Thani.

The Minister and participants paid tribute before the royal portraits of His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati. The ceremony featured “The Radiance of Siam,” with a special appearance by renowned Thai actress Baifern Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul.

H.E. Ms. Sabeeda said the Ministry of Culture is hosting “Si • San • Thai: COLORS OF THAI THAI” from September 2–6, 2026, for the second consecutive year. The fair is organized in honor of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen, in remembrance of the boundless benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, and in recognition of the benevolence of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati.

The fair showcases the value and diversity of Thai culture, promotes cultural tourism, and provides a nationwide platform for artists, entrepreneurs, communities, and cultural networks to present their works and products. It also aims to create opportunities and generate income by building on Thailand’s cultural capital and advancing the creative economy in tangible ways.

Presented under the concept “Si • San • Thai: Experience the Colors, Create Thai Culture,” the fair portrays Thai culture not merely as stories preserved in museums, but as a “living culture” woven into everyday life through royal benevolence, food, music and performances, arts and crafts, local wisdom, traditions, festivals, and beliefs. These elements reflect people’s identities and their bonds with their communities and places of origin, while offering inspiration for new ideas and value in the present day.

H.E. Ms. Sabeeda added that “Si • San • Thai” takes visitors on a journey through the Thai way of life—from the wellspring of inspiration to stories that can be touched, tasted, watched, and experienced firsthand. The five zones are woven together into one continuous cultural journey.

Colors of Inspiration

The journey begins with “Colors of Inspiration,” presenting the boundless benevolence of the monarchy and members of the Royal Family. The zone features creative works and products inspired by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati, bringing together the work of the SUPPORT Foundation, the Queen Sirikit Department of Sericulture, and the Kamlangjai Fund under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha under the Ministry of Justice. Publications from the Fine Arts Department and the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre (Public Organisation) are also available.

Colors of Thai Flavors

From inspiration, the journey moves to “Colors of Thai Flavors,” where food tells the stories of people, the land, and memories. From “rice” to “The Lost Taste,” visitors can rediscover flavors, knowledge, and memories passed down through generations, taste and shop at more than 60 food stalls, and join free workshops on Thai cooking and traditional dessert-making.

Colors of Thai Performing Arts

The next stop is “Colors of Thai Performing Arts,” bringing together Likay, Mor Lam, Luk Thung, Nang Yai, Khon, Nora, music, contemporary performances, and concerts by renowned artists, including the Sornram Nampetch Likay Troupe, FINO THE RANAD, Mor Lam Idol, Palmy, North–Otto, Latte–Kim, MAIYARAP, Max Jenmana, URBOYTJ, and many others.

Visitors can move from being “spectators” to “active inheritors” through workshops in Nang Yai leather carving, Nora beadwork, Lanna headdress-making, Isan musical-instrument keychain-making, Nang Talung puppet carving, and Khon mask painting.

Colors of Thai Wisdom and Craftsmanship

From sound and performance, the journey leads to the “hands of artisans” in “Colors of Thai Wisdom and Craftsmanship.” Visitors can learn directly from practitioners through the Living Wisdom Showcase under the concept “The Wisdom of Basketry: From Local Roots to the Global Stage,” featuring a pavilion by Korakot Aromdee and cultural products inspired by traditional basketry.

A variety of hands-on workshops in Thai wisdom and craftsmanship are offered, while more than 100 vendors nationwide showcase Thai textiles, handicrafts, and cultural products.

Colors of Thai Heritage, Faith, and Traditions

The journey concludes at “Colors of Thai Heritage, Faith, and Traditions,” featuring a large-scale Immersive Cultural Experience under the concept “From the Rice Spirit to the Full-Moon Sky,” created in collaboration with the Thai Animation and Computer Graphic Association (TACGA).

Visitors can also explore an Interactive Smart Museum, a 360-degree local museum, and hands-on activities inspired by Thai beliefs and traditions, including Phi Ta Khon masks, phon drums, centipede flags, Buddhist Lent candles, phuang mahot hanging paper decorations, and Lanna lanterns. The zone also connects visitors with communities and their places of origin through the “10 Best Model Cultural Communities.”

Ms. Sabeeda said the five zones form one continuous journey: “from royal benevolence to the dining table, from the sounds of performance to the hands of artisans, and from faith to tradition.”

More than exhibition spaces, they offer a journey through the Thai way of life, connecting the past, present, and future. Thai identity is not defined by a single color; it comprises thousands of hues drawn from people, communities, flavors, music, arts, wisdom, beliefs, and traditions. Together, these colors form “Si • San • Thai”—a culture that is not merely preserved, but also inherited, developed, creatively built upon, and passed on so that Thai identity remains alive and beautiful for generations to come.

The Ministry of Culture has also received support from GrabTaxi (Thailand) Co., Ltd., which is offering travel discounts to make it more convenient for visitors to attend the fair.

H.E. Ms. Sabeeda added that the Ministry envisions “Si • San • Thai: COLORS OF THAI THAI” as a platform for showcasing the value of and pride in the nation’s culture, while giving artists, entrepreneurs, communities, and cultural networks nationwide opportunities to present promising cultural products, goods, and services. The fair also serves as a mechanism for building on cultural capital, creating economic value, and driving Thailand’s creative economy forward in tangible ways.

Honoring the 10 Best Model Cultural Communities

The Minister of Culture also presented honorary plaques to the 10 Best Model Cultural Communities under the “Community Tourism – Experiencing Local Ways of Life” initiative for 2025, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to transform cultural capital into tangible economic value through creative cultural tourism.

Under the UNSEEN “Thai Thai” policy and the concept “Preserve, Create, and Lead Thai Culture Towards a Sustainable Future,” the 10 selected communities are:

1. Chanthaboon Waterfront Old Town Community, Chanthaburi

2. Ban Khiri Wong Community, Nakhon Si Thammarat

3. Hua Talat Community, Pattani

4. Tai Lue Cultural Tourism Community of Mueang Mang–Mueang Yuan, Phayao

5. Ban Lam Pam Community, Phatthalung

6. Ban Tha Chang (Wat Khosa) Community, Phetchabun

7. Ban Phaem Bok Community, Mae Hong Son

8. Ton Tan Subdistrict Community, Suphan Buri

9. Ban Duea Community, Nong Khai

10. Ban Sanam Community, Uthai Thani

“I would like to congratulate all 10 Best Model Cultural Communities, each of which demonstrates the potential to build on cultural capital, local identity, and distinctive ways of life to create value and generate income for their communities,” Ms. Sabeeda said.
